Let's Dance- Folkways
The Falinge Dance for Camera was created with young people living within the Falinge flats. Spiral Dance worked with young people over two days to create the piece. It asked these questions of them:
For me, home is... For me, friends are... For me, free time is... For me, family is...
The young people were given tasks to create movement based around the questions and the theme ‘Hands and Feet’. This was then filmed outdoors to create a lovely piece of dance film. Each family was given a DVD after the project to celebrate their achievements.
Courage
Jennifer Blackburn (Folkways project co-ordinator), Margaret Greenwood (Every Body Dances co-ordinator) along with Trixie Bold, Vicky Brown and Sophie Taylor were recently part of a dance film under the 23 Feelings in Dance project. The film was edited by Phil Cunningham and is called ‘Courage’. The three minute site specific piece explores the themes of fear and journey, leading to courageous acts.

The film was shown at the Edinburgh Festival 2010.
